It’s one thing to be a fan of cosplay, where you sew and wear elaborate costumes of your favorite anime or video game commercial, but it’s another thing when you turn it into an art form. Better yet, it’s a cultural phenomenon that has grown in popularity over the past decades, and not just within the Asian American community.
That’s why we’re impressed with Ejen Chuang’s book, Cosplay in America ($40), a slick hardcover book of photographs that pays tribute to cosplayers from six anime conventions across the country.
