File this under the “Asians Behaving Not-so-Badly, But Kinda Strangely” Department: Oregon Taiwanese-American Congressman David Wu has made the front page of Yahoo! for “a series of bizarre revelations in recent days about his mental health, including a photo he sent to staffers during his re-election bid showing him wearing a tiger costume.” Yahoo! also notes that seven staff members have resigned after the campaign following bizarre behavior that concerned his team at the end of the 2010 campaign, and that newspapers and GOP members have asked the congressman to resign.
Okay, while taking an unnamed pain killer and posing for photos in a tiger costume probably isn’t the smartest thing to do in your political career, who hasn’t had a “dress up as an animal” vicodin themed birthday party, seriously? I mean, it’s not like he’s wearing the tiger costume and accepting kickbacks from special interests or wearing a tiger costume and picking up on chicks on Craigslist. Maybe that tiger outfit is just his night on the town outfit. (It’s not working, is it? Me neither.)
