New K-Town Sizzle Reel Looks Just Like an Asian Jersey Shore

And on the seventh day, the Asian American Pop Culture God rested as his creation, the Asian-American-reality-show-pilot-similar-to-Jersey-Shore-but-not-because-Jersey-Shore-has-Italians-and-these-people-are-clearly-Asian K-Town was created, and Asian American Pop Culture God decided it was good. Well, good in a kinda trashy sort of way, enough to make a sizzle reel for it.

That’s right folks: from a mild mannered Craigslist ad eleven months ago to the “hey, this doesn’t look like a PBS documentary” application to the ironic-but-somewhat-refreshing change that one of the dudes has a porn past instead of one of the chicks to the very well written guest post by the producer of the series we are now seeing the sizzle reel of the series and rumors of friends of friends seeing the pilot episode. While we here at 8Asians haven’t seen the pilot yet, we hope that the series is AWESOME. Or, you know, completely terrible, in a amateur-porn, “boy I hope they’re making money on this project,” train wreck kinda way. What we don’t hope is that the series is boring.

This was not, however, the takeaway from everyone when discussed on a recent 8Asians email thread:

John: I highly dispute the claim in the video: “Asian-Americans are rising in corporate america faster than any other race.” Other than that, I like the video 🙂 Especially the video clip of that girl playing the violin – so Asian! LOL.
Moye: Wait, so there’s a video of two girls making out and YOU POINT OUT THE GIRL PLAYING VIOLIN?

So, Asians: like it or not, this reality show will be coming on a three-digit DirectTV channel near you! How do we officially feel about this?
