The Petition For Bruce Lee Commemorative Stamp

July 20th was the 38th anniversary of the passing of iconic Bruce Lee in 1973 at age 32. His daughter, Shannon Lee, shared a video on that day remembering her father and calling on everyone to help her on a commemorative project for her father.

Next year will be 2012, the Year of the Dragon, and Shannon is trying to petition the U.S. Postal Service to come out with a stamp commemorating Bruce Lee. Lee was actually born in San Francisco (but was raised as a kid until 18 in Hong Kong) and as such is a U.S. citizen and there has never been an Asian American celebrity on a U.S. stamp. How fitting would it be to have a Bruce Lee stamp in the Year of the Dragon?

Help Shannon by checking out her petition online here.

If you haven’t seen Enter the Dragon, you should check out the movie, and certainly check out the trailer.

About John

I'm a Taiwanese-American and was born & raised in Western Massachusetts, went to college in upstate New York, worked in Connecticut, went to grad school in North Carolina and then moved out to the Bay Area in 1999 and have been living here ever since - love the weather and almost everything about the area (except the high cost of housing...)
