You can say that the all-girl pop group phenomenon began in Japan and was perfected by the Koreans and copied by the Taiwanese. But has the phenomenon spread to others parts of Asia? Watching these videos, I would say abso-freaking-lutely! I started this list last week, and we continue with these groups from Thailand, after the jump.
THAILAND
Holy cow, Thailand has some really cute and talented groups – I would rank the quality of these Thai groups right behind Korea and Japan! (Let’s just hope they didn’t sneak some lady boys in there.) Does anyone recognize these songs as covers of Korean or Japanese songs?
Seems like they’ve learned from the Chinese and Korean groups that it’s good to have weird English names: Mild, Bow, Bam, Kitty and Gail.

Is Google Translate butchering the translations or are they really named: Giftza, Gybzy, Nannie and Bell?

Mok, Cat, Ticha, Milky and Newclear debuted in 2010. Milky and Newclear? Seriously, who comes up with these names?

The bizarre names continue: Garn, Nett, Nune and Bam Bam. And why is the name of the song “Alzheimer”?

This Thai pop trio consisting of Faye, Fang and Kaew formed in 2007.
How do you pronounce the name of this group? The girls are Pim, Min and Jinny.
The girls are Faye, Waii, Meen, Mila and more.
Stay tuned for Part 3!
