Our favorite cellist, Yo-Yo Ma, will be in good company for the 34th Annual Kennedy Center Honors. He will be coronated with the prestigious honor alongside Meryl Streep, Neil Diamond, Sonny Rollins and Barbara Cook. “This year, the Kennedy Center selects five extraordinary individuals whose collective artistry has contributed significantly to the cultural life of our nation and the world,” said Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein in a statement. The event will air on Tuesday, Dec. 27 on CBS and the honorees will be treated to an night of tribute performances while sitting next to President Barack Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama.
