What is YTF? What does it actually mean? At first when I heard of this “YTF”, I was literally thinking “Why the…Fudge?” Then I’ve come to learn that YTF is a group comprised of some of the biggest YouTube entertainers, that when totaled, their combined members garner over 1.3 billion views and a subscriber base of 8 million fans. Led by Ryan Higa aka NigaHiga and Kevin Wu aka KevJumba, their mission is “to share the group’s personal message of empowerment with its fans.
The philosophy behind YTF – Yesterday, Today, Forever – is that success and happiness in one’s life start with individual choice: Yesterday is in the past. Today you have a choice. Forever is up to you.” The rest of the group comprises of Victor Kim, Chester See, Dominic Sandoval, Andrew Garcia, and JR Aquino.
On December 10th, YTF threw a little Christmas party to celebrate its first-ever Christmas Album, A YTF Christmas, an album consisting of a mix of romantic and comedic songs. The party was held at J Restaurant & Lounge in Downtown LA and I was fortunate to check it out on behalf of 8Asians.
To be honest, the party was a bit of a blur to me but I remember having a lot of fun and getting to meet several YTF members as well as friends and colleagues like Lawrence Kao of Kaba Modern fame, Justin Chon, Skylar Song of Threesome Nightly, the Fung Brothers and so many more.
