Not an April Fools post: A meniscus tear on his left knee has taken Jeremy Lin out for at least six weeks. He received the injury in a victory over Detroit. After resting his knee for seven days, he still had pain when he tried to work out again. Says Lin:
“I can’t really cut or jump, so it’s pretty clear that I won’t be able to help the team unless I get this fixed right now.”
Lin choose to receive arthroscopic surgery to repair the damage. Is this end of Linsanity?
Maybe for this season. If the Knicks make the playoffs, he may be able to return in time to play more, but that is not guaranteed, especially with Amare Stoudemire also being injured. It’s ironic that injuries gave Jeremy Lin his big opportunity, but now an injury has cut his season short. Lin’s assessment:
“It sucks.”
