What caught my attention first about this anime was the kitty boxing gloves. Immediately, I was like “I must have a pair of kitty boxing gloves like so!” They are too awesome. And they “meowed” when Okami, the main heroine, punches the bad guys. It also leaves a happy smiley kitty face mark on her opponents. Life doesn’t get much more awesome than that.
After I got over the awesomeness of the kitty gloves, which sadly only make an occasional appearance in the show, I found that the anime itself was pretty good. The main character is interestingly complex tom boy with a dark past, and the characters around her provide interesting foil and variety to the chemistry of the story. There is a narrator that overlaps with the dialogue, which makes it a little hard to follow sometimes, but her comments often break the fourth wall in a comedic and witty way.
Sadly, this anime is not devoid of fan-service, or sexual objectification of women, which is unfortunately just a common phenomenon in Japanese anime and manga, always ruining a good story or character with extremely forced and hackneyed sexism. -_-
