After becoming a finalist on Season 11 of American Idol, Korean-American singer HeeJun quickly became a judge and fan favorite with his quirky personality and unsuspecting voice. Finishing in 9th place, A.I. was just the beginning for HeeJun as he is now working hard on his debut project that is scheduled to release later this year. The first single “Bring the Love Back” which will drop this month features Island Def Jam/G.O.O.D. Music rapper Pusha T.
From his first appearance during the auditions on American Idol, people were drawn to HeeJun’s odd but endearing personality. Then when he began to sing, it was very obvious that there was something special about this Korean born kid from Flushing, NY. So, wanting to showcase not only his talent, but undeniable funny charm, HeeJun chose Sylvian White to direct and Riveting Entertainment to produce his first music video. Most known for his work on feature films Stomp The Yard and The Losers, White also recently directed Chris Brown’s mini-movie music video for “Fine China.” Pusha T will also be making an appearance in the video.
After finishing American Idol, HeeJun made many appearances on shows like Live! With Kelly and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno before going on the “American Idols LIVE! Tour 2012” with his fellow finalists. Being able to perform for audiences across the U.S. helped HeeJun improve his artistry and find his sound. His debut project will be geared toward his already growing fan base from A.I. with a pop sound that everyone can enjoy. It will be an accumulation of everything he’s learned since starting his journey on American Idol.
