‘LINSANITY,’ the documentary about NBA basketball player Jeremy Lin and his tumultuous struggle to breakthrough stereotypes and make it into the NBA and into the zeitgeist is scheduled for distribution on October 4th:
“Ketchup Entertainment has acquired Evan Jackson Leong’s “Linsanity” and will release the documentary on Oct. 4. The Jeremy Lin doc, which premiered at Sundance, will launch in Boston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco along with 10 to 15 other cities.”
So far, the documentary has been making the film festival circuit, first at Sundance, then at CAMMFest (where I did a review of the documentary). I enjoyed the film and am glad that the documentary can make it into theatrical release. I just wish the film could have been released lot sooner, rather than over 1.5 years after LINSANITY ensued in February 2012.
The documentary recently premiered at the 36th Annual Asian American International Film in New York City at the end of July. You can catch the post Q&A session with film director Evan Jackson Leong, producers Christopher Chen, Allen Lu, and Brian Yang, and moderated by ESPN journalist Pablo Torre.
