I had no idea what an ACL was until I learned that muay thai and MMA fighter Miriam Nakamoto had torn hers in the InvictaFC Inaugural Bantamweight Championship fight. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of four main ligaments that hold the knee together. It’s located in the middle of the knee, and apparently, women are more likely to tear their ACL than men. Right after surgery, Nakamoto is clearly already back on the war path. She gives a whole new meaning to the term “woman warrior”. Wishing her a speedy recovery!
