Din Tai Fung in University Village in Seattle Now Open

Back in May, I had written about another Din Tai Fung opening in the Greater Seattle area – in the University Village section of town. Well, the new Din Tai Fung is now open! Here are the details:

dintaifung_450x200“The new Din Tai Fung restaurant is set to open at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at University Village. … Managing partner David Wasielewski, who opened the Bellevue Din Tai Fung in 2010 to 3-hour-long lines, said the Seattle branch will have a bar about twice the size of the one in the Bellevue store, and has a bigger kitchen. Overall, the space is more than 1,000 square feet larger than the already-sizable 7,000-square-foot store in Bellevue’s Lincoln Square. It’ll seat 220 to 230 people.”

It’s funny, I saw a good friend of mine recently in LA when he was vacationing there and he had thought that I had flown down to LA back in October just to eat at the new Din Tai Fung in Glendale. I happened to be in LA that week for work – so more a coincidence! I hope I have a trip to Seattle in the new future to check out the new Din Tai Fung!
