Traveling China: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

My favorite place to enjoy and relax with my family is at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in China. This national park has three main places worth visiting: the big lake, the big forest, and the big mountain.

On a trip during the summer of 2023, our first stop was to the big lake in Zhangjiajie. We saw many different types of fish swimming freely in the lake. We brought some fish food there specifically to feed those fish. However, when I wanted to feed the fish, there was a bright light shining on my eyes. It attracted my attention, and I went to its source. I saw a notice board that said, “Dear Travelers, Please don’t feed any food to the fish in the lake!” It was then that I finally understood, I could not feed the fish. I was unhappy about this. However, my parents talked to me and suggested that we go to take a picture. After we finished taking the picture, we went to the next spot worth seeing in Zhangjiajie.

Our second stop was to the big forest in Zhangjiajie. When we were there, we also saw a notice board that said, “Dear Travelers, Please be careful when you go inside.” After, we went to the bright lit area of the forest. We saw that some of the trees there were very different from others in the forest. Instead of just leaves, the trees had flowers in the branches as well. Then, we came to a resting place in the middle of the forest, and we took a short break to drink water and eat some food, enjoying our picnic among the trees. After the break, we left the forest to our next destination.

Our final site was to the big mountain. The time was coming up at 6 o’clock P.M. when we got there. We drove as far up the mountain as we could and then climbed the rest, and we were on the highest peak on the mountain. Then, we saw the sunset. We took many photos of the breathtaking view. We were eating all the food we brought at our final location, having an amazing picnic with a gorgeous view.

There are many places in China worth visiting, but my favorite place is Zhangjiajie National Forest Park because it really makes me relaxed and joyful. If you are lucky enough to visit Zhangjiajie, don’t forget to bring enough water and your personal identity card to access the park.
