Asian American Whiz Kid About to Graduate from UCLA at Age 14

“People need to know you don’t really need to be a genius. You just have to work hard and you can accomplish anything,” says the fourteen year old college graduate, Moshe Kai Cavalin.

Words of inspiration from a little guy? It sounds pretty promising to me! Back in 2009, we wrote about how Cavalin graduated in East Los Angeles College with a G.P.A. of 4.0 in Astrophysics at age eleven. Now, he is ready to graduate at UCLA with a math major. He also plans on going to graduate school after.

Cavalin also recently published a book called We Can Do. In the book, he talks about his parents’ contributions, his method of studying, etc., that led to his accomplishments. He also emphasizes that he is not a genius. It is all about good planning, having a strong heart, diligence, and a resilient mind staying afloat during hardships in order succeed beyond any expectation. For some reason, learning more about Cavalin somehow inspired me to not give up on my aspirations even though it has been tough for me. I am still going to say he is still a genius to me.

Well, congratulations again Moshe!
