Au Bon Pain (get it?)

Alright. Here we go. I volunteered to write about this guy and to be honest, I’ve been putting it off since I volunteered.

First, I was too busy with work. Then, it was too close to lunchtime. Then it WAS lunchtime, and I didn’t really want to think about these baked goods while I was around food. Then I remembered that MacDonald’s was giving away free chicken sandwiches today (with a drink purchase), so of course I had to go out with my friends to pick some up. Then, I was actually EATING food and my fingers were too greasy to type up an entry. And NOW I feel really nauseous from the disgusting free sandwiches that I don’t want to write about anything at all.

No, really, I was going to write about how cool this Thai artist was, using his background from growing up in his family’s bakery to create his art–which is bread shaped like human body parts. Like, real human body parts. Oooh, cool and edgy. Right?

But now my tummy is saying NO. NO NO NO. This is not cool, nor edgy. These Thai people may have gross horror movies, but let’s keep this out of our ovens. Yes, Kittiwat Unarrom, you may have a master’s degree in fine arts to create “bruised and battered heads, feet and other internal organs at a bread shop in Thailand.”

But good taste is a degree that you cannot earn. And I think his nicely glazed treats made of raisins and chocolates could be better off in the shape of a nice, safe, wholesome pastry than a bloody cadaver, so people like me don’t get grossed out while they eat their breakfast toast.

I’m going to go puke now.

(Okay, let’s be serious. I really think all of this is cool. Dude, Asian people are so awesome.)

About Moye

I am a Japanese-American girl who was born, raised and is most probably stuck in traffic right this second in Los Angeles. I'm currently one of the co-editors of 8Asians and like to distract myself with good food, reading long books, playing video games, catching up on celebrity news, choosing my new new haircut and then writing all about it on Hello Moye and sometimes here on Twitter if I can get it in under 140 words or less. You can reach me at moye[at]8asians.com.
