Asian American Commercial Watch: Verizon’s Share Everything, “Always There”

As a remote employee, I am often on the road and often use my mobile hotspot feature with my smartphone. In this Verizon commercial, a nervous and anxious kid is about to perform a solo with his tuba (is there such a thing?) to the school audience. The kid is also disappointed seeing an empty chair between his Mom and his siblings (i.e. Dad  can’t make the performance).

His Mom activates a Verizon mobile hotspot from her phone so that her other kids can video conference dad (who happens to be  actor Randall Park) and the grandparents in to give the kid some encouragement and watch his performance. With the proliferation of devices, 4G and hotspot usage, I think this is not a rare use case. However, realistically, I wonder what kind of signal strength the Mom and kids are getting in the school auditorium, even if they are on Verizon.
