Racist Tweets After Kenichi Ebina Wins ‘America’s Got Talent, Season 8’

Can it be that the whole season of America’s Got Talent has wrapped since we first saw Kenichi Ebina’s head-dropping audition video?

The season has indeed ended and Kenichi defied the odds to come out on top, but it seems like you can’t be of Asian-descent and win a talent show (or win the Miss America pageant, for that matter) without the racists coming out to tweet.

I did a random search of “AGT” and “Japan” right after the season finale aired, and I was faced with a screen full of tweets calling out how the show is “America’s Got Talent, not Japan’s Got Talent” and one Pearl Harbor mention, to boot.

I took a screenshot, and although there were plenty more later on, you get the gist:

But I’ll be honest, I’m getting tired of writing about racist tweets. And I’m pretty sure you’re tired of reading about it, too.
