There are tons of things that are making fanboys/girls all giddy at this year’s Comic-Con — one of them is the first look at the character posters for Zack Snyder’s highly-anticipated graphic novelesque movie Sucker Punch, which he has refers to as “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns.”
Above is the poster of Jamie Chung as Amber: she is a part of a motley crew of sexy girls with weaponry (I don’t know why Amber has a lollipop). The cast also includes Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone and Carla Gugino (click here for all the character posters). They all have cool names like Sweet Pea, Baby Doll, Blondie and Rocket; I think my name would be something like Icy Hot or Salonpas.
The movie is an original story by director Snyder and Steve Shibuya. It’s about a girl in the ’50s who is institutionalized by her evil stepfather who plans to have her lobotomized. While confined, she imagines an alternative reality (of really hot tough girls, apparently) to escape her pain.
Man, oh man, do I wish I was dorking out at Comic-Con right now. I feel my geek gland secreting geekiness through my bloodstream.
