I’ve blogged about it before, but Lydia’s Funeral Video, Sam’s one-woman show, wraps on Saturday in San Francisco. Sam pinged me over Instant Messenger just now and we talked a little bit about the show:
Ernie: how has the show been doing so far?
Sam: oh, it’s been really great, actually
Sam: the response has been incredibly positive, and it’s been a lot of fun to do
Sam: there were two nights with low attendance, but still good response.
Sam: if you want to read a bit about the show, my friend claire blogs for kqed
Sam: and mel from hyphen posted something on the hyphen blog
Sam: one piece of feedback i’ve consistently received is that the promo stuff didn’t adequately convey what the show would be like…which i knew would be challenging at the timeErnie: so what is the show like? pretty intense, i imagine.
Sam: well, it’s mostly comedy, with intense & absurd & dramatic interspersed throughout…
Sam: and, you know, “provocative and stunning…a masterpiece!”
Sam: that, too, of course.
Sam: kidding. but really, claire’s blog post probably better describes it. or mel’s. but it’s a futuristic comedy-drama
with dead baby jokes, natch
Ernie: SWEET.
I’ll be at the Friday night showing – you see me, say hi!
