Asian American Commercial Watch: Subaru 2011 Legacy’s “Sweet Tomorrow”

Fellow 8Asian Jeff came across this terrific commercial by Subaru’s commercial for the 2011 Legacy, titled “Sweet Tomorrow.” Apparently, Subaru is specifically targeting the Asian American market and running this television ad of the expectant Chinese American parents to California media markets in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The commercial will also be airing in Mandarin and Cantonese, as well as English – all in hopes to appeal to all expectant parents.

My brother and sister-in-law recently became parents in January and my brother is in the market for a new car.  If I were him, this commercial would totally appeal to me. Nice to see some family oriented commercials with Asian Americans, especially recently with the Chrome browser ad by Google. (I still think the greatest tv ad ever featuring an Asian American Mom and her family is that Target ad.)

About John

I'm a Taiwanese-American and was born & raised in Western Massachusetts, went to college in upstate New York, worked in Connecticut, went to grad school in North Carolina and then moved out to the Bay Area in 1999 and have been living here ever since - love the weather and almost everything about the area (except the high cost of housing...)
